QUEENSTOWN WRITERS FESTIVAL 2022

The 2022 festival was held over three days in November. We had author talks, workshops and book launches – including Catherine Chidgey's The Axeman's Carnival, which would go on to win the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction at the 2023 Ockham NZ Book Awards. This was the first year for the festival at Queenstown's new arts venue Te Atamira.

QUEENSTOWN WRITERS FESTIVAL 2021

The 2021 festival, held over several weekends in spring, was not a full festival but there were nonetheless a host of author talks, workshops and a book launch. All events except the children's writing workshops were held at the Sherwood – with some authors having to Zoom in because of travel restrictions. Here are some of the writers and interviewers who were able to join us in person.
